Bellver Castle
Bellver Castle (Castell de Bellver) is a very special circular castle on a hill near Palma on the Island of Majorca, Balearic Islands. The castle is located obout 112 m over the see level, with spectulary views over the bay from the city of Palma. Bellver Castle was built in the beginning of the 14th century (1300 to 1310) for King James II, Rey from Majorca and by the arquitect Arquitecto Pere Salvá. The construction is set around a central courtyard and has two levels: the ground floor with round arches and flat ceilings and the upper floor with lancet arches covered with a cross vault in pure Gothic style.
